Why is STEM education important?

Since ancient times, STEM has allowed humanity to survive and prosper on Earth. The wisdom and understanding of STEM are extremely important for our success and the future.

Science is all around us, from cooking and gardening to reading a map and using a computer. Technology is continuously developing. Engineering is the basic design of roads, bridges, and everyday items. Mathematics is in every field and every activity we do in our daily lives.

STEM has allowed humanity to survive and prosper on Earth. The wisdom and understanding of STEM are extremely important for our success and the future. Unfortunally, studies have shown that only 20 percent of high school graduates are prepared for college-level coursework in STEM majors and fewer than half of high schools in the United States even offer computer science classes.

STEM education is constantly growing as we speak. STEM provides order to the world. Natural and artificial challenges are better understood and are better prepared for through STEM. It provides a way to discover and to learn.

You may not think of it, but STEM is part of everyday life. Without STEM, technology will not exist, and we would not be able to learn about our world. Broken objects cannot be fixed, items may not be used safely and correctly, and problems would not be solved.
